This course is dedicated to those willing to learn or improve their skills about the transanal transabdominal total mesorectal excision (TaTME).
This novel approach for rectal cancer has arisen as a safe and feasible alternative to the conventional total mesorectal excision over the last few years. Surgeons from all over the world are adopting this technique as the election procedure, particularly for those obese, male, with narrow pelvis.
Over the next modules, we will discuss about the room set-up for a combined approach with two operative fields, the step-by-step approach of the transanal dissection, the anastomosis and the results, to fully understand the technique.
